Among the notable presentations on the feature film side is Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, The Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League, Black Adam, and The Batman. While the Wonder Woman sequel has released an official trailer ahead of its October 2020 release, very little of the three films has been unveiled aside from a few images or short teasers. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is scheduled to debut on HBO Max in 2021 while The Suicide Squad and The Batman will receive theatrical releases in August and October, respectively, of the same year.
On the television side, standout events include presentations for The CW’s The Flash, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Epix’s Pennyworth, and DC Universe’s Doom Patrol, Titans, and Stargirl. The DC FanDome events for the DC Universe shows will take place days after the streaming service was hit by massive layoffs amid WarnerMedia’s company-wide restructuring.
With the respective television seasons of many DC television shows cut short and the delayed filming or theatrical release of the company’s feature films, DC FanDome is expected to give fans some much-needed new content from their favorite superheroes. However, it could still be a while before any of the projects being presented at the virtual convention are released or begin production, with The CW already pushing back the return of its programming back to 2021.
DC FanDome will take place on August 22, 2020.
