Dead by Daylight has recently been adding themes from Japanese horror and fashion. These include Sadako Rising and most recently, the Hanami Collection. Rockabilly is a fashion trend popular in Japan that originated in the United States that emulates the rock and roll style of the 1950s.

The Dead by Daylight YouTube channel has posted a video showing off some of the cosmetics included in the new Rockabilly Collection complete with a backdrop of a retro bowling alley with a slow and unsettling version of Rockabilly music. The outfits shown in this trailer are for the survivor characters, Élodie Rakoto in an outfit set called 50’s Night Out, Ace Visconti in Retro Party, and Felix Richter in Bowling Night. This collection follows the Hanami Collection and will be available for all survivors at the in-game shop.

This collection leans more into the Japanese theme Dead by Daylight has been delving more into as time goes on. With other Japanese-themed additions including The Spirit, The Oni, and most recently Sadako Rising and the Hanami Collection. Adding the Rockabilly trend is a very interesting idea since it not only captures a culture popular in Japan, but also in other parts of the world, making it a little universal in nature. The culture’s melting pot of upbeat music, bright and dark colors somehow fits right in with the Dead by Daylight cosmetics already present.

Japan has some of the most iconic fashion trends and horror franchises, so this one is a welcome addition to Dead by Daylight’s DLC in the lineup. Dead by Daylight cosmetic packs have always had a vibe to them that makes it easy for anyone to add clothing to their survivor to match their personal style, or just to stand out less on the map, so they won’t catch the killer’s attention. The outlandish nature of them also makes the game that much more fun to play with friends.

With Dead by Daylight becoming a board game sometime soon, the cards are on the table for Behavior to go above and beyond with other DLC killers, cosmetics, and even survivors in the future. If fans like this set of cosmetics, then it leaves the door open for Dead by Daylight to delve even deeper into Japanese fashion culture, maybe even finding their way into Harajuku someday.

Dead by Daylight is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
