Developers announced Dead By Daylight’s second Resident Evil crossover with a trailer back in May. While the announcement trailer didn’t reveal much about the upcoming Resident Evil: Project W expansion, its newest trailer finally revealed the Killer and Survivors coming to the game this September.

The new Resident Evil characters include Survivors Rebecca Chambers and Ada Wong. Meanwhile, the series’ recurring villain Albert Wesker bursts onto the scene as Dead By Daylight’s newest Killer. While this reveal was spoiled by the Dead by Daylight leak from a few days ago, it’s still good that fans now have an official confirmation. The upcoming Project W will also feature reworks to the Raccoon City Police Station map introduced in June 2021.
The trailer takes place in the above-mentioned Police Station map. Dead by Daylight’s original character Meg Thomas looks worse for wear after getting thrown around in Project W’s announcement trailer. Fortunately, she’s met up with Resident Evil’s Rebecca Chambers, who helps her take shelter inside. However, their rest is interrupted by the arrival of Resident Evil 2’s Ada Wong, who hastily barricades the door behind her. Unfortunately for them, a wooden door and a length of pipe aren’t enough to stop Project W’s version of Adam Wesker, who shatters the door with his mutated tentacle arm.
Chambers, Wong, and Wesker each have three Unique Perks whose names and icons were included in last Saturday’s leak. Of the three, Albert Wesker is the character whose abilities fans know the most about. Called “The Mastermind” in Dead by Daylight, his perks include a vaulting speed-jump called Superior Anatomy, Awakened Awareness, which reveals a Survivor’s aura when they’re carrying another Survivor, and Terminus, which gives survivors with the Broken status effect when the exit gates are activated. Interestingly, the trailers depict him battering doors and hurling Survivors around with tentacles rather than the knife shown in Saturday’s leak.
Meanwhile, Rebecca Chambers’ Perks are called Better Than New, Reassurance, and Hyperfocus, while Ada Wong’s Perks are Wiretap, Reactive Healing, and Low Profile. Unfortunately, neither the leak nor today’s trailer revealed what those Perks do, though Rebecca seems to be specialized in healing and supporting her teammates. Hopefully, developers will show more about these characters before Resident Evil: Project W releases for Dead by Daylight in September.
Dead by Daylight is available now on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
