According to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who leaked the Dead Space remake well before it was officially announced, the game is aiming for a fall 2022 release as part of EA’s 2023 fiscal year lineup. Grubb doesn’t provide a more specific release window beyond that, but smart money would be EA trying to get the game out in time for Halloween; maybe the Dead Space remake will be one of the company’s big releases for October 2022.

Fiscal year 2023 would also include the first few months of 2023, so maybe the Dead Space remake will slip to early 2023 instead. Grubb notes in his report that video game release dates are delayed all the time, and it’s certainly within the realm of possibility for that to happen with the Dead Space remake as well. Dead Space 2 and 3 released in January and February, respectively, so there’s certainly precedent for these games to come out early in the year instead.
Grubb also believes that fans will see more of the Dead Space remake before the year is out, suggesting that a trailer could drop on the Dead Space YouTube channel or that the game will be featured at The Game Awards in December. Since Grubb was the one that accurately leaked the Dead Space remake ahead of its official reveal, one has to assume that he’s on the money with this information as well, though fans should take this all with a grain of salt until EA provides official details.
In any case, this is good news for those who don’t want to wait a terribly long time to play the Dead Space remake. In the meantime, it will be exciting to see the game in action and learn all of what it has in store for players. We know that the Dead Space remake will have cut content, but beyond that it’s believed to be a mostly faithful recreation of the original game. More information should come to light in the months ahead.
Dead Space is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
