As part of the big reveal about Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds reminded fans that Jackman’s Wolverine dies at the end of 2017’s Logan. While the MCU has many ways of bringing a dead character back to life, cue the Multiverse, a popular designer who goes by the name Bosslogic has given the character’s return a fun spin. While Jackman seemed to have bid farewell to his mutant character a few years ago, the world isn’t quite done with him.

Sharing his take on Wolverine’s introduction into the MCU, Bosslogic revealed his art that includes the character and the Merc with the Mouth. The art gives off Justice League vibes, with Reynolds’ Deadpool digging up Wolverine’s grave to retrieve his body. The image is drawn from Wolverine’s perspective, with his iconic blades in clear view. He looks up at Deadpool, who waves at him, a shovel in his hand. “You awake?” reads the caption, which is completely in line with Deadpool’s quirky personality.
Since sharing his first design to mark the announcement of Wolverine’s return, Bosslogic has shared multiple Deadpool 3-themed artworks. One of them features three bullets, with their shadow forming Wolverine’s blades. “This was definitely by popular demand, so we are all to thank for this happening! So cheers to you. And of course Ryan and Hugh,” reads the caption. Ever since the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney was announced, fans had been urging the conglomerate, which also owns Marvel, to introduce mutants into the MCU. It seems like their pleas have been heard.
Several projects in Phase 4 have previously teased the potential arrival of mutants, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introducing Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ms. Marvel all but confirming that Kamala Khan is a mutant. However, with Wolverine all set for his first MCU appearance, fans are excited about the two worlds finally aligning.
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release in theaters on September 6, 2024.
