Reedus also admits that his on-stage statement at the Game Awards, where he said he didn’t know what the game’s newest trailer was all about, was scripted. After all, Reedus is the star and so he actually knows quite a lot about Kojima’s game:
Kojima has yet to show any gameplay for Death Stranding, with every glimpse of the game so far being cinematics, leaving some to wonder what exactly the gameplay will end up being. Reedus says the concept is “ahead of its time” and counter to what gamers may expect:
Even that description sounds very Kojima and his penchant for delivering forward-looking messages and themes that critique culture and where it might be headed.
It’s unknown when exactly Kojima will give more detail on the gameplay of Death Stranding or when the game may finally come out. According to recent reports, production is moving smoothly and development is going much quicker than expected on the game, which is the first for Kojima’s newly formed studio Kojima Productions.
There are even rumors that Death Stranding may be getting a 2018 release date; however, it’s unlikely gamers will be given any major announcements until E3 2018 in June.
Death Stranding is currently in development exclusively for PS4.
