It is essential to know what one can do with these items and their purpose in several quests. Using batteries is just one way Deathloop shows off its emergent environmental interactions. Once batteries in Deathloop are fully understood, it will make using them in the world and during quests easier.
What Do Batteries Do?
Batteries serve several purposes throughout the world:
Power devices Activate generators activate or deactivate electric locks
Depending on the objective at hand, the player will either have to put a battery in a machine or take it out. To know where to insert it, look for the square-shaped slot in the machine (pictured above). In addition to finding them in the game world, batteries can also be transferred between districts via a delivery booth.
How To Recharge Batteries
Batteries only have a limited supply of power and need to be recharged after a few uses. One can see how much juice a battery has left by looking at the lights on the side. Some of them lying around in the world are already empty as well.

To recharge a battery, head to a charging station, which is white, narrow, and has a lightning bolt painted on it. Insert the battery and wait until it is fully charged. Players should be able to see the lights on the side of the battery activate again. Once all the lights are on, the battery is ready for use again.
Quests That Involve Batteries
Several Leads in Deathloop involve batteries. Players first run into them while doing the tutorial, The Longest Day, which explains how to charge up a battery when Colt has to power up a projector. Other Leads that have batteries as a part of it include:
Opening Up the HZN doors (Radio Silence). Once Colt enters the power station in The Complex district, he must power up each generator by inserting a battery and powering it on. The battery charger is in the middle of the two generator rooms. Only after powering up the generators can Colt redivert power to the different districts and open the doors. Obtaining the Strelak Verso in The Ordnance Depot located in The Complex district involves a relatively complex puzzle featuring battery usage. Colt must put four batteries into a lock to open a door and use the batteries to rotate vestibules. Use the batteries too much when turning the vestibules, and there will be no more juice to power the door.
Deathloop is out now for PS5 and PC.
