DecalGirl was started in 2003 to make custom removable graphics for show vehicles. Upon seeing a dusty XBox, a light bulb went off and the company evolved. DecalGirl now makes custom stylish and protective skins for many of the top gadgets including cellphones, iPods, laptops, all the current gaming platforms and more.
Alright, enough with the ad. We wouldn’t be talking DecalGirl if it wasn’t something we thought you should be interested in, and you really should be interested in this. Let’s take a look at some of the samples I received.
Nintendo Wii Console and Controllers
With these new decals on my Wii, I actually want to play on it. All these went on easily and look perfect. I was really impressed that someone could make the Wii look cool. Now if I can just find a good game to play on it. Just kidding, ok, not really…

Nintendo DS Lite
The DS Lite was a little difficult to apply the skins, but a little patience will go a long way. The hardest part is lining up the speaker holes and the Start and Select buttons. The best part about this skin is that since the decals are protective, my DS, which gets tossed around a lot, is going to stay looking good for a long time coming.
Sony PSP
I’ve used some other brand’s skins on my PSP and I’ve always had problems. Either the vinyl was too thick, or the decals would peel off. None of those problems have occurred with DecalGirl’s skins. Just like the DS, not only does it look cool, but its also protective which is always a bonus.

Sony PS3 Console and Controllers
I’ve never regretted trading in my PS3 copy of Modern Warfare 2 until I got this skin for me PS3. Ah-mazing. The controllers might look a little difficult to apply the decals on, but the PS3 and Wiimote skins were the easiest to apply. This skin really blew me away.
Microsoft Xbox 360 Console and Controllers
So far it’s been candy and sunshine, but, the Xbox 360 faceplate and controller are where frustration set in. The frustration has nothing to do with DecalGirl. The problem is purely mathematical. How do you put a flat sticker on a round object? Not very easily. As you can see, since flat doesn’t do well on double round edges you get some bubbles and distorting as you can see below. Of everything I’ve checked out, the Xbox 360 faceplate and controller skin are the only ones I can’t recommend. Even though the controller skin (Style: Home) does look incredible. You never know, but my you might have better luck putting these on then I did.
I can’t say enough about DecalGirl.com. The skins are top quality and the artwork is gorgeous. If you’re looking to pimp your consoles, definitely check these folks out. They get the Game Rant stamp of approval.
