Dropping the price permanently to £14.99 means it only costs £5 more per month for a much higher quality of streams compared to Deezer’s regular £9.99 per month plan. If you have a sound system or pair of wired headphones that you like to enjoy high quality music streams through, it’s a better option than anything offered by Spotify or Apple Music, neither of whom offer a higher quality tier.
Tidal made a name for itself as a HiFi streaming option, but its HiFi tier remains at £19.99, meaning Deezer is now better value. We’ve tried Deezer’s HiFi tier and find it to be excellent, with every artist we threw at it available.
Deezer’s ‘Flow’ automated playlist is also very good and often outperformed Spotify’s algorithm in our opinion, finding better fits to our tastes when surfacing new music. HiFi subscribers also get access to the ‘360 by Deezer’ app that lets you listen to 360 degree audio through any headphones.
Deezer said the new price would apply to all new sign ups and current HiFi subscribers will see their next bill go down to the new price. The company is also offering a 30 day free trial of HiFi to anyone who hasn’t previously had one.
